Terms of Service

Bookkalakar is a discovery and enquiry marketplace that helps hosts, event planners, and organisations connect directly with India's local performing artists — singers, bands, dhol-tasha pathaks, DJs, dancers, anchors, photographers and more. We are the platform; we are not the performer, agent, or organiser. Any performance contract is directly between you and the artist.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law to use the Platform. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when you sign up, list, or enquire.

Bookkalakar supports two account types: Individual (a solo artist) and Band or Group. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials, mobile number, and email up to date and confidential, and for everything that happens under your account.

You can update your profile from your dashboard, or ask us to delete your account at any time via contact us.

Artists are responsible for the accuracy of everything on their profile — stage name, categories, city, pricing, bio, cover image, and gallery. By uploading images you confirm that you own them or have the right to use them, and you grant Bookkalakar a non-exclusive licence to display them on the Platform.

Listings move through statuses (draft, pending review, published, paused). We may review, edit for clarity, unpublish, or remove listings that are misleading, unlawful, or that violate these Terms.

Hosts can send enquiries to artists through the Platform or via WhatsApp/phone once contact is shared. Bookkalakar facilitates the introduction; the actual booking, contract, payment, logistics, and performance are between the host and the artist. We are not a party to that contract and do not guarantee any performance outcome.

Listing on Bookkalakar and sending enquiries are currently free. We may introduce fees or paid features in the future; when we do, we will give reasonable notice and never charge you for something you've already booked.

You agree not to: post false, misleading, or infringing content; impersonate another person or artist; scrape or bulk-download data; spam other users; use the Platform for unlawful, harmful, or discriminatory purposes; or attempt to break the Platform's security or access controls.

The Bookkalakar name, logo, "b" mark, wordmark, and site design are owned by Bookkalakar. User-uploaded content remains owned by the user; you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display it as needed to run the Platform.

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do our best to verify artists and keep information accurate, but we don't guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or availability of any artist, listing, or event. Any dealings you have with an artist or host are at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bookkalakar and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Platform or any artist engagement.

You agree to indemnify and hold Bookkalakar harmless from any claim or demand — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of your content, your use of the Platform, or your breach of these Terms.

You may stop using the Platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are inactive for a long period, or where required by law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where reasonable, notify you in-app or by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
